Orders written to the sheriffs of the towns of Simsbury, Windsor, Suffield, Granby, Canton, Farmington, Enfield, East Hartford and Hartford, Connecticut, to collect sums owed to either the plaintiff or the court as a result of a judgment rendered in County Court or the local justice court. The bulk of the summons were to sheriffs in Simsbury and Windsor. The Justices of the Peace who signed the writs include David Humphrey, Dudley Pettibone, Noah A. Phelps, Andrew Hillyer of Simsbury, Solomon Griswold, Hezekiah Bissell and William Moseley of Windsor, and Oliver Mather of Farmington. Orders were also issued by County Court clerks Solomon Porter and T. Chester of Granby and by assistant Roger Newberry of Simsbury.
